Clarification Notice On Media Reports
On April 8, 2021, Shenzhen Sunway Communication Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Sunway Communication”) noticed media publications and reprinted reports (collectively “Reports”) stating that the U.S. Department of Commerce added seven Chinese Supercomputing entities to the so-called Entity List, which are subject to specific license requirements for the export, reexport and/or transfer of specific items. The Entity List mentioned in the Reports included an entity referred to as Shenzhen Sunway Microelectronics Co., Ltd. (hereinafter ”Entity”) as well as other entities. We have paid attention to the above Reports and have scrutinized them. In order to avoid misleading information to investors, we hereby clarify.
Ⅱ. Clarification
Following our verification, the aforementioned Reports are misrepresented and factually distorted. The Entity referred to in the reports is NOT part of the Sunway Communication group of companies. The Entity referred to in the Reports is Chengdu Shenwei Technology Co., Ltd. with a registered address at Shuangxing Avenue, Gongxing Street, Soutwest Airport Economic Development Zone, Shuangliu District, Chengdu, China.
1. Sunway Communication and its subsidiaries have NO relationship with the Entity.
2. Sunway Communication and its subsidiaries, including its directors, have NO mutual investment with the Entity.
3. Sunway Communication and its subsidiaries have entirely different product lines than the Entity, and there is NO product or business co-operation between the two sides.
Ⅲ. Other Statement
Sunway Communication strictly performs its obligation of information disclosure according to relevant laws and regulations.
In terms of the information disclosure, China Securities Journal, Securities Times, Shanghai Securities News, Securities Daily and Juchao Information Network (http://www.cninfo.com.cn) are media appointed by Sunway Communication. All information from Sunway Communication shall be subject to announcements published in the above-mentioned medias. Please invest rationally and be aware of risks.
